“The Evil Dead” actor Bruce Campbell, a cult film icon who in March announced he had been diagnosed with a “treatable” but incurable form of cancer, says he has five years left.

Recently, he appeared on The Adam Carolla Show (which aired on September 3rd), and during the conversation, the actor informed the host, “The current situation is for a five-year term,” to which the host quipped, “So essentially, you have five years left,” to which the actor responded, “Give or take.”

At 68 years old, currently, Campbell has not revealed the kind of cancer he has been diagnosed with but has shared his perspective on how he intends to live with it:“I’ve decided, pretty specifically, to live with it, not die from it. You can go down a massive rabbit hole. The cancer rabbit hole is enormous. You can go into focus groups of 10,000 guys who have what you have. I wouldn’t touch it with a 10-foot pole. It’s a whack-a-mole life, literally. Cancer compromises s— inside your body. So then you go, ‘deal with that,’ so then you deal with that. And then you sort of wait for it to then compromise something else. Meanwhile, you’re trying to put out the whole fire.”

Campbell is out promoting the dramedy “Ernie & Emma,” which tells the story of a man who embarks on a road trip with his wife’s cremated remains after her passing.
