After Amazon Prime Video unveiled its “Blade Runner 2099” limited TV series at New York Comic Con, the second trailer was made public for the premiere scheduled for November 25th.
Set within the world of the films and a half-century after the events of Denis Villeneuve‘s “Blade Runner 2049,” it portrays a radically transformed Los Angeles where humanity is no longer in control, and the applicants have won after an uprising.
They now hold the reins of power in the city, making humans second-class citizens. Olwen, played by Michelle Yeoh, is a Blade Runner tasked with hunting rogue replicants near the end of her lifespan. Hunter Schafer portrays Cora, a human fugitive who, having spent her life evading Blade Runners, now must feign being one.
The series will center around new characters, with its core mystery connecting to the mythology. Michael Green, who wrote “Blade Runner 2049‘”, was involved in developing the project. Ridley Scott, who directed the original “Blade Runner“, serves as an executive producer and offers advice for the series.
