  “The Great” actress, Ella Fanning stars in the Hulu limited series as Michelle Carter, the Massachusetts teen who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter for using text messages to encourage her boyfriend Conrad Roy III to die by suicide. Written by Liz Hannah and Patrick Macmanus, who also served as co-showrunners and executive producers, The Girl From Plainville is based on the Esquire article by Jesse Barron.

SYNOPSIS: “The Girl From Plainville” is inspired by the true story of Michelle Carter’s unprecedented “texting-suicide”  case. Based on the Esquire article of the same name by Jesse Barron, the limited series explores Carter’s relationship with Conrad Roy III and the events that led to his death and, later, her conviction of involuntary manslaughter.
