Samuel Jamier, Executive Director of the New York Asian Film Festival, is a polyglot and cosmopolitan cinephile. His European studies, between France and London, his Korean heritage and collaborations with Japanese institutions, have given him a a worldly perspective on the art of filmmaking.
In this exclusive interview he shares his ideas on the craft of motion pictures and the way he channels them in his role as director of the kermesse that is based in the Big Apple, with the aim of increasing exposure of Asian representation on screen. This special edition marks an important return in presence after the pandemic and the rich programme running from July 15th until July 31st provides opportunities for audiences to experience talks and screenings of Eastern cinematography.
