Moviegoers will have to wait until 2024 to watch A Quiet Place: Day One and IF, thanks to changes in Paramount’s production schedule that the studio announced this week.
A Quiet Place: Day One will now debut on March 8, 2024, nearly six months after its initial planned release date of September 22, 2023. And the premiere of IF is being pushed forward from November 17, 2023 to May 24, 2024.
Previously untitled, A Quiet Place: Day One is being directed by Michael Sarnoski, with Allyson Seeger listed as executive producer. The cast has yet to be announced, but it is reported that neither John Krasinski nor Emily Blunt will be reprising their roles.
The original A Quiet Place: Part II had its debut in May of 2021.
IF will be directed by the aforementioned John Krasinski, who will star in the film along with Ryan Reynolds and a supporting cast that includes Steve Carell, Cailey Fleming, Louis Gossett Jr., Alan S. Kim, Fiona Shaw, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Krasinski, who also wrote the script, is credited as producer along with Reynolds and Allyson Seeger.
Executive producers for IF will be George Dewey and Alexa Ginsburg.
In other scheduling shifts, Paramount announced that The Tiger’s Apprentice, an animated feature adaptation of Laurence Yep’s fantasy novel, will be released on January 19, 2024, a month later than previously announced. The film will be directed by Raman Hui with Yong Duk Jhun and Paul Watling as co-directors.
A large cast will provide voicing for the many characters in the feature, including Henry Golding, Lucy Liu, Brandon Soo Hoo, Sandra Oh, Michelle Yeoh, Leah Lewis, Kheng Hua Tan, Bowen Yang, Sherry Cola, Deborah S. Craig, Jo Koy and Greta Lee.
Paramount is also handling North American distribution for Laal Singh Chaddha, a Hindi-language film starring Aamir Khan. The film is a remake of the 1994 Tom Hanks film Forrest Gump.
In addition, the 25th anniversary release of James Cameron’s Titanic has been iceberged from this October 21 to February 10, 2023.
