For many people going to see Alexandre Aja’s horror film Never Let Go this weekend, it will be all about Halle Berry returning to theaters for the first time in over two years. But there’s also a duo of young actors who carry just as much of the film, Anthony B. Jenkins and Percy Daggs IV, who play Ms. Berry’s twin sons in the film.
The two boys, Sam and Nolan, live with their mother in a remote cabin in the woods, where an evil spirit threatens to possess anyone that ventures outside the house. To protect themselves, mother and her two sons tie themselves with ropes attached to the house while foraging for the scarce food available to them.
Young Jenkins and Daggs may be new faces to some, but they’ve actually been working for a number of years, Daggs previously having appeared with Samuel L. Jackson The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey, while Jenkins just appeared opposite Glenn Close and Andra Day in Lee Daniels’ The Deliverance, which is now on Netflix.
Cinema Daily US had a robust conversation with the two boys, talking about everything from meeting and working with Ms. Berry to their own background with horror, and much more.
Never Let Go opens nationwide on Friday, September 20.
