Actor Laz Alonso has been in the acting biz for 25 years, bouncing between movies and television, most recently playing the role of Mother’s Milk on the popular Prime Video series, The Boys, based on the comics by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. During his break from that show, Alonso reteamed with Guy Ritchie, who he last worked with for the crime action-thriller, Wrath of Man.
For his new movie, Fountain of Youth, Alonso is part of an ensemble cast led by John Krasinski and Natalie Portman as siblings Luke and Charlotte Purdue, who are on a mission to find the legendary Fountain of Youth of the title with a team that includes Alonso’s Patrick Murphy. If they’re able to find it, they can guarantee themselves immortality.
Cinema Daily US spoke with the Image Awards-winning actor about making another movie with Guy Ritchie, as well as how he plans out his schedule to be able to make movies in between his very busy schedule for The Boys and other television series.
Fountain of Youth will stream on Apple TV+ starting May 23.
