Actor Danny Glover, known for his role in “Lethal Weapon“, has disclosed that he has been grappling with Alzheimer’s disease.
Talking with Lester Holt in a Today Show interview, 79-year-old Glover revealed he had been living with the condition for years: “I can live with it, in a sense. I’m sure as it advances, things are going to be different and changing.”
Glover disclosed he had been diagnosed with the neurodegenerative condition immediately prior to accepting the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award during the January 2022 Governors Awards.
Glover notes that he’s observed changes in his movements, speech, and memories, becoming slower; however, he continues to stay active both physically and socially, and is also monitoring his health.
Over his career, Glover has amassed nearly 200 film and TV acting credits, with “The Color Purple” being dear to his heart.
His last screen work was as Santa Claus in “The Naughty Nine” telemovie, while his likeness appeared in last year’s animated anthology film “Predator: Killer of Killers”.
