Zach Cregger’s upcoming “Resident Evil” film adaptation, which he also directs, has seen the release of the second trailer for his previous projects “Weapons” and “Barbarian“.
The project shares an original narrative distinct from its predecessors and is inspired by the initial video games in the series.
Austin Abrams took on the role of a package delivery driver assigned with delivering a suspicious cargo to Raccoon City Hospital amidst a deadly virus outbreak.
The $80 million-budget film, in which Paul Walter Hauser, Zach Cherry, Kali Eris, and Johnno Wilson are co-stars, is described as a ‘horror version of “Mad Max: Fury Road” and is reported to be just 90 minutes long with primarily practical effects.
In recent interviews, Cregger has suggested he aims for an “Evil Dead II” kind of vibe, blending wild and inventive filmmaking with elements of horror and dark humor.
The film, produced by Robert Kulzer, Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, premieres on September 18th.
