Subscribers of YouTube Premium are in for a surprise – they’ll be getting Peacock Premium.
NBC Universal and YouTube have announced a significant agreement where the Peacock Premium subscription will be integrated into the $15.99 per month YouTube Premium service for no additional fee. Starting early next year, this arrangement is set to activate, with potential gains including millions of new subscribers and viewers for the service.
Starting with the new agreement, YouTube Premium users will be able to watch live sports like NFL, NBA, and MLB, alongside entertainment programs like “Law & Order,” “Saturday Night Live,” and “Love Island.”
The streamer might see a dramatic increase with this, Peacock has trailed its competitors in subscribers over the years, currently with just 48 million users.
Neal Mohan, YouTube’s CEO, says: “We’re incredibly excited to expand our partnership with NBCUniversal to redefine what a modern entertainment subscription can be for consumers.”
