The complete trailer for “Wildwood,” the latest creation from the well-known animation studio LAIKA (filmmakers of “Coraline” and “ParaNorman“), is now available. This project marks the company’s sixth feature, directed by Travis Knight (“Kubo and the Two Strings“), with a script penned by Chris Butler (“ParaNorman,” “Missing Link“), drawing from Colin Meloy’s novel.

Set in Portland, the story follows Prue McKeel, who, alongside her best friend Curtis, ventures into an enigmatic and enchanted forest nurtured by early settlers dubbed the impassable wilderness.

The woods desire to keep people away from any secrets lurking within, including Mac, the baby brother taken by a murder of crows and a mysterious woman named Alexandra, who has been spirited away deep into the forest’s heart.

Carey Mulligan, Mahershala Ali, Peyton Elizabeth Lee, Jacob Tremblay, Awkwafina, Angela Bassett, Jake Johnson, Charlie Day, Amanda Stenberg, Jemaine Clement, Maya Erskine, Tantoo Cardinal, Tom Waits and Richard E. Grant lend their voices to the project.

“Wildwood” is set for release in cinemas on October 23rd.
