Lionsgate has dropped a new trailer, “Fall 2: Deadpoint“ which follows the first “Fall“ movie (available on Amazon now) with a new setting: Per the official description, “On a perilous climb across Thailand’s Mount Kwan, two climbers become trapped thousands of feet above the ground, where vertigo-inducing heights, sheer exposure, and impossible odds turn every moment into a fight for survival.” Directed by The Spierig Brothers, the movie stars Harriet Slater, Arsema Thomas, and Tom Brittney. You can see it in theaters (in a seated position) starting September 2nd.
The forthcoming follow-up is helmed by filmmakers Jigsaw and Predestination Helmers, Michael and Peter Spierig, with the script co-written by original Fall’s director-writer Scott Mann and Jonathan Frank. he first of two sequels greenlit by Capstone Studios post-Fall, this film is produced by Mark Lane and James Harris from Tea Shop Productions, with Capstone’s Christian Mercuri, David Haring, and Mann overseeing. Ruzanna Kegeyan, along with Dan Asma, John Long, and Roman Viaris, is listed as an executive producer.
The synopsis described: Overwhelmed by her sister Hunter’s death, Jax (Slater) connects with Luce (Thomas), Hunter’s fearless friend. To heal, they attempt the infamous plank walk of Mount Kwan in Thailand. After a sudden rockslide leaves them stranded on a fragile plank 3000 feet in the air, Jax must confront her deepest fears and fight for survival to find closure.
The original “Fall” was a smash hit both critically and commercially, earning over $20 million at the global box office on a budget of only $3 million. Original writer-director Mann is set to return behind the camera to both direct and pen the third installment of the franchise.
