Following that oddly uncomfortable teaser from two weeks ago, A24 released the full trailer for the documentary feature which premiered at Telluride Film Festival, titled “You Can See Everything“.
Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim co-directed the documentary about Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of Theranos, a defunct health technology company.
Holmes was a biotech entrepreneur who established the startup that boasted comprehensive blood tests needing just a few drops (primarily a finger prick), capable of rapid execution with small automated devices – a transformation for clinical pathology and diagnostic medicine.
Overnight, she transitioned from being a self-made multi-billionaire to losing everything, as it was later revealed that the proprietary technology did not function properly and produced inaccurate results. She was found guilty of wire fraud and conspiracy and was given a 11-year sentence at a federal prison.
The film crew was granted access for five weeks to document her before her sentence started. The filmmakers keep tracking Holmes over the ensuing three years, as per the synopsis: “What starts as a revealing look at a mysterious criminal develops into a bewildering three-year odyssey into the depths.”
A24 will release the film theatrically on October 16th.
