Lionsgate showcased the first trailer for “Day Drinker,” an action thriller, which will hit theaters on March 26, 2027. Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz, stars of “Blow” and “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” will reunite for a fourth time in this film. They are joined by Madelyn Cline, Manu Rios, Arón Piper, Juan Diego Botto, and Anika Boyle as well.

Following a private yacht bartender, the narrative introduces a mysterious day drinker. As their paths cross, both become ensnared in a criminal underworld, only to discover connections in surprising ways.

The trailer hinted at something much more extraordinary than the synopsis suggested. Director Marc Webb (of “The Amazing Spider-Man” and “500 Days of Summer“) oversees the movie, with Basil Iwanyk, Adam Kolbrenner, Zach Dean, and Erica Lee serving as producers.

Johnny Depp‘s resurgence in Hollywood headlines: The teaser trailer for Day Drinker was released on Thursday (see below), marking the actor’s return alongside Penélope Cruz.

With “Ebenezer” scheduled for release on November 13 and “Day Drinker” hitting theaters on March 26, 2027, these films mark a double feature for Depp following his absence from Hollywood since 2016, when allegations of domestic abuse surfaced and a defamation lawsuit involving his brief marriage to Amber Heard ensued.

In August, “Pirates of the Caribbean“ producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed in a Deadline interview that Depp was also actively in talks to return to his most famous role in Pirates 6. “We’re talking with Johnny [Depp], we’re working on a screenplay, and hopefully we can get this done,” the producer said.
