Paramount Pictures has debuted the trailer for filmmaker Ti West’s “Ebenezer,” a fresh adaptation of Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol.”
Johnny Depp portrays Ebenezer Scrooge in what’s called a captivating ghost tale set in Dickens’ London. Following that, it tells the story “one man’s supernatural odyssey to address his past, present, and future, and pursue a second opportunity”.
The cast features Ian McKellen as Jacob Marley, Andrea Riseborough as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Trammell Tillman as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and Daisy Ridley as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come.
Also aboard are Rupert Grint as Bob Cratchit, Sam Claflin as Fred, Charlie Murphy and Ellie Bamber as the Fezziwigs, Nicholas Day as a Minister, and Arthur Conti as a young Ebenezer.
The project features a script penned by Nathaniel Halpern with Emma Watts in the role of producer. Depp is set to have his first major studio lead since 2018. Filming took place in Dublin and London earlier in the year.
“Ebenezer” is set for a November 13th 2026 theatrical release.
