King Gnu Announce First-Ever U.S. Headline Tour “King Gnu US TOUR ’27”
King Gnu has announced their first-ever U.S. headline shows.
Formed by Daiki Tsuneta (Gt./Vo.), Yu Seki (Drs./Sampler), Kazuki Arai (Ba.), and Satoru Iguchi (Vo./Key.), King Gnu is a four-piece band known for their distinctive musical style, which they describe as “Tokyo New Mixture Style.” Blending alternative rock with elements from across genres, the band creates a one-of-a-kind sound driven by an instinctive sense of pop and a uniquely eclectic approach.
Since breaking through to mainstream success in 2019, King Gnu have released a string of hit songs, including “Hakujitsu,” “Ichizu,” “Sakayume,” and “SPECIALZ.” With their distinctive artistic vision and electrifying live performances, they have established themselves as one of the leading acts in Japan’s music scene.
In 2023, King Gnu released THE GREATEST UNKNOWN and launched their largest tour to date, performing to approximately 380,000 fans across Japan.
In recent years, King Gnu have continued to expand their presence beyond Japan. Their January 2026 release “AIZO” ranked No. 1 on Amazon Music’s “Top 10 Most-Streamed Japanese Songs Overseas” for the first half of 2026. The track also topped Billboard JAPAN’s “Global Japan Songs Excl. Japan” chart and reached the Top 10 in regional charts across 13 countries and territories, including the U.S., U.K., and France, marking a major global success.
In 2026, the band embarked on the King Gnu CEN+RAL Tour 2026, spanning 29 shows across 15 cities in Japan and Asia. They have also announced King Gnu 10th Anniversary Opening Live “KICKOFF”, a special two-night event at major dome venues in Tokyo and Osaka to launch their 10th anniversary year.
These upcoming performances will be King Gnu’s first US appearances since SXSW in 2017 and represent a significant milestone in the band’s growing international trajectory. Following a series of global streaming successes, the band now brings its acclaimed live show to US audiences for the very first time.
