A chronicle of the life of one of Japan’s most influential photographers, Masahisa Fukase. The film, “Ravens” from Japan, directed by a British filmmaker named Mark Gill (his second film after England is Mine), has received a first look teaser trailer.
The film depicts a dark romantic tale of love between the legendary Japanese photographer Masahisa Fukase and his wife Yoko. Japanese actor Tadanobu Asano, best known for playing Kashigi Yabushige in the “Shogun” series on FX, plays the lead character Masahisa Fukase in this rocking new biopic, Yoko, Sôsuke Ikematsu, Kanji Furutachi, and Gô Jibiki are also featured in the cast.
According to the teaser, this biopic seems to have some intriguing qualities with some trippy vibes, as it’s set in the 1970s when there was a lot of wild partying. He appeared to be haunted by ravens as well?
Ravens is written and directed by acclaimed British filmmaker Mark Gill, making his second feature film after directing England is Mine (2017) previously, plus a few other short films. It’s produced by David Barrera, Cyril Cadars, Sam Fayed, Megumi Fukasawa, Mark Gill, Henry Gillet, Johanna Horn, Hideki Kawamura, Hiroyasu Nagata, and Orian Williams. It will be released on March 28th in Japan.
