People struggling with their identity are often the most enduring in telling stories with important social themes. Mental health, substance abuse, child-parent relationships and generational trauma, race and body image are amongst the vital socially relevant themes highlighted in the new powerful family drama, After All.

Kerstin Karlhuber directed the film. The helmer reunited with writer, Jack Bryant, who she co-penned the 2016 drama, Fair Haven, with on After All. The latter scribed their new collaboration, which chronicles three generations of women who reunite and confront the past in a moving story of healing.

Erika Christensen, Penelope Ann Miller and Kiara Muhammad lead the cast in the movie as a grandmother, daughter and granddaughter struggling to reconnect. Zach Gilford, Mike O’Malley and David James Elliot also join the trio of women on screen.

After All followsEllen (Christensen) as she returns to care for her ailing mother, Verna (Miller), and estranged teenage daughter, Haley (Muhammad). During their unexpected reunion, the three women are confronted by buried secrets and the path toward love and forgiveness.
