Despite playing in “Euphoria” and “The Housemaid“, Sydney Sweeney won’t make an appearance in “The Devil Wears Prada 2“.
During the filming of the production, the actress was seen on the set and looked like she was filming a minor cameo in the film. EW has announced that her three-minute scene has been removed from the sequel because of a ‘creative decision’.
In the film, Emily Blunt’s character, Emily Charlton, who is an executive at Dior, played a key role in this scene that took place fairly early.
In the scene, the characters portraying Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Stanley Tucci visit the Dior offices in order to seek Emily’s aid. Emily is engaged in the task of dressing up a celebrity client while Sweeney is engaged in self-play.
According to the outlet, the scene did not work with the rest of the sequence, and the movie team was grateful for her participation, making the decision to remove it difficult. It is not certain who decided to scrap the scene, director David Frankel or Disney/20th Century Studios.
“The Devil Wears Prada 2” is set to hit cinemas on May 1st.
