Just prior to its debut today in Venice, a preview clip had been released for a new Elon Musk-focused documentary feature, “Musk” from Oscar-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney, best known for “Going Clear,” “Taxi to the Dark Side,” and “Enron: The Smartest Guys in Room.”

Musk” is a nearly four-hour film (232 minutes) and represents the conclusion of a four-year cinematic journey that delves into the emergence and the troubled past of the tech tycoon.

The film is reported to be the “definitive and unfiltered exploration” of Elon Musk, detailing his career as CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and Twitter, leading to his status as a polarizing yet influential global figure.

In a press conference for the film, Ashley St. Clair, Elon Musk’s ex-partner and a 28-year-old influencer, joined Gibney. Ashley revealed that she had declined Elon’s $40 million non-disclosure agreement offer, which Elon had made after she had given birth to his thirteenth child.

These production companies—Jigsaw Productions, Closer Media, Anonymous Content, and Double Agent—are creating the film, which will premiere at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival today. It is set to debut in U.S. theaters on October 16th and then will be available exclusively on HBO Max for streaming.
