Jason Momoa’s ‘The Crow’ Test Footage Came to Light

The test footages of actor Jason Momoa playing a title character on a reboot of “The Crow” have surfaced online, showcasing the actor in full makeup and his ability to play.

Shortly after photo was leaked online, filmmaker Ryan Unicomb took to Twitter and shared a very brief clip of Mamoa posing and acting as The Crow. In the clip, Mamoa is also dressed as The Crow, complete with facial makeup done.

The Crow starts with the night before his wedding, musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) and his fiancée are brutally murdered by members of a violent inner-city gang. On the anniversary of their death, Eric rises from the grave and assumes the gothic mantle of the Crow, a supernatural avenger. Tracking down the thugs responsible for the crimes and mercilessly murdering them, Eric eventually confronts head gangster Top Dollar (Michael Wincott) to complete his macabre mission.

The actual reboot project started from Relativity Media a decade ago, in 2011, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo was initially attached to direct, Bradley Cooper was supposed to star, but Cooper dropped out the project with Juan, then the Weinstein company fought over the distribution rights and settled.  The project moved again when Jason Momoa was taking over in the starring role after Luke Evans and Jack Huston both dropped out the project in 2014, and director Corin Hardy was attached to direct the film. But the Relativity filed for bankruptcy again in 2018, the film remained in limbo, and both Hardy and Momoa eventually left the project.
