George Clooney and Brad Pitt are reuniting for an as-yet-untitled thriller.
The pair previously co-starred in 2001’s Ocean’s 11, two Ocean’s sequels and 2008’s Burn After Reading. Fans have been hoping for years they would headline a fourth Ocean’s caper, but nothing was ever officially green-lit.
Spider-Man: Homecoming director Jon Watts is onboard to write, direct and produce the actors’ next film, according to ScreenRant.com. This will be Watts’ first non-Marvel movie in years, as he has been focused on making a trilogy of Spider-Man pictures with Tom Holland and is developing a remake of The Fantastic Four.
Few details are known about the latest Clooney-Pitt collaboration, it will be about “two lone-wolf fixers assigned to the same job.” Sony, Lionsgate, Apple, Netflix, Amazon, Annapurna, Universal, MGM and Warner Bros. all want to release the next project and are currently engaged in a bidding war.
Clooney is producing through his Smokehouse Pictures production company and Pitt is doing likewise via his Plan B Entertainment shingle. The deal is expected to earn each star an eight-figure paycheck.
Clooney was most recently seen in The Midnight Sky. Pitt will next be seen in The Lost City of D and Babylon.
