The Toxic Avenger – Exclusive Red Band Teaser Trailer (2023) Peter Dinklage, Elijah Wood

IGN has dropped a new teaser trailer for upcoming superhero remake of “The Toxic Avenger” which captured Peter Dinklage as the titular hero. The film just had its world premiere at the 2023 Fantastic Fest last week, where it recieved positive reviews from critics and currently has a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Directed by Macon Blair, this new Toxic Avenger stars “Game of Thrones” fan favorite Peter Dinklage as Winston, a widower struggling to raise a stepson played by Jacob Tremblay. When his job, run by an evil corporate Boss played by Kevin Bacon, won’t pay for health insurance, Winston fights back and ends up in a vat of toxic waste. It also teases the titular hero’s incredible powers, as he easily takes down a group of hostage-takers called the Nasty Lads.

The video previews the level of gore and violence that fans should expect to see from Macon Blair’s reimagining of the 1984 cult classic. The official synopsis also notes, “Even as this story exists on its own terms, the spirit undoubtedly remains connected to the original. Troma fans old and new will be pleased to know that the film has been rated “R” for violence and gore – as per Troma tradition.”

The film also stars Elijah Wood, Julia Davis, Taylour Paige, Kevin Bacon, and Jacob Tremblay also star in “The Toxic Avenger,” which hopefully will get distribution and set a release date soon. Stay tuned for more.
