‘Megalopolis’: Francis Ford Coppola On-Set With Adam Driver and Aubrey Plaza

Francis Ford Coppola’s passion project, “Megalopolis” has been in development since the 1980s. The logline states, “The fate of Rome haunts a modern world unable to solve its own social problems in this epic story of political ambition, genius, and dangerous love.”

Now, the first batch of behind-the-scenes photos from the set of an epic drama has officially surfaced online.

Megalopolis” set photos provide us with our first look at Oscar nominee Adam Driver and Emmy nominee Aubrey Plaza’s characters, Plaza sports a blonde hairstyle.

Besides Driver and Plaza, the film also stars Forest Whitaker, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jon Voight, Laurence Fishburne, Aubrey Plaza, Talia Shire, Shia LaBeouf, Jason Schwartzman, Grace Vanderwaal, Kathryn Hunter, James Remar, Dustin Hoffman, Isabelle Kusman, D.B. Sweeney, Chloe Fineman, and newcomer Bailey Ives.

The plot follows an architect who wants to rebuild New York into a utopia after a disaster decimates the city, but finds himself at odds with the conservative values of the city’s elite.

Coppola, best known for “The Godfather” Trilogy and “Apocalypse Now,” has reportedly been trying to get the project off the ground since the 1980s, with the filmmaker helping out with some of his own money for the $120 million budget.
